Samjin Foods Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") collects, uses, and manages users' personal information in accordance with the following principles and complies with relevant laws, personal information protection regulations, and guidelines of the Republic of Korea that information and communication service providers must observe.
Through this Privacy Policy, the Company informs users of the purposes and methods for which their personal information is being used and what measures are being taken to protect personal information. The Company's Privacy Policy includes the following contents:
Article 1 (Scope of Personal Information Collection)
Users can freely access most content without a separate member registration process.
If you wish to use the membership-based services of Samjin Foods, you must enter the following information. Failure to enter optional items will not restrict your use of the service.
Scope of personal information collected upon membership registration:
• Mandatory items: User ID, Password, Name, Email Address, Mobile Phone Number
• Optional items: Nickname, Telephone Number, Preference for receiving emails, Preference for receiving SMS
Article 2 (Consent to Collection of Personal Information)
Samjin Foods provides a procedure for you to click the "Agree" or "Do Not Agree" button regarding the contents of Samjin Foods' Privacy Policy or Terms of Service. Clicking the "Agree" button is deemed as granting consent to the collection of personal information.
Article 3 (Purposes of Collection and Use of Personal Information)
Samjin Foods collects personal information for the following purposes to provide optimized and customized services to members:
• Name, User ID, Password: Used for identity verification procedures for membership service use.
• Email Address, Email Reception Preference, Telephone Number: Securing smooth communication channels such as delivering notices, confirming personal intent, and handling complaints; providing information on new services, products, or events.
• Address, Telephone Number: Securing accurate delivery destinations for prizes and purchased goods.
• Other optional items: Data for providing personalized services.
However, sensitive personal information that may infringe upon fundamental human rights of users (such as race, ethnicity, thoughts, beliefs, place of origin, political stance, criminal records, health status, and sex life) is not collected.
Article 4 (Use Outside Purpose and Provision/Sharing with Third Parties)
Samjin Foods uses your personal information within the scope notified in "Purposes of Collection and Use of Personal Information" and does not use it beyond this scope or provide it to other individuals, companies, or institutions.
In particular, personal information will be used and provided with caution in the following cases:
• Affiliations: To provide better services, your personal information may be provided to or shared with partners. In such cases, you will be individually notified via email or in writing prior to sharing regarding who the partner is, what items are shared, why it needs to be shared, and how/until when it will be protected and managed. If you do not agree, it will not be provided or shared. The same procedure applies to changes or termination of affiliations.
• Outsourcing Processing: If processing of personal information is outsourced to smooth business handling, details such as the name of the trustee, scope of personal information, purpose of entrustment, process, and maintenance period will be notified in detail in advance.
• Sale, M&A, etc.: If rights and obligations of the service provider are fully succeeded or transferred, legitimate reasons and procedures will be notified in detail in advance, and the right to withdraw consent for personal information will be granted.
Notices and consent methods will be published via online website 'Announcements' at least 7 days in advance.
The following cases are exceptions:
• When required by law for investigative purposes by relevant agencies following legal procedures.
• When provided to advertisers, partners, or research organizations in a form that cannot identify specific individuals for statistical compilation, academic research, or market research.
• When requested according to procedures prescribed by other relevant laws.
• Even in exception cases where information is provided pursuant to laws or investigative agencies, it is a principle to notify the party concerned. Notification may not be given due to legal grounds. We will make every effort to prevent indiscriminate provision contrary to original collection purposes.
Article 5 (Inspection and Correction of Personal Information)
You can inspect or correct your registered personal information at any time. To inspect or correct personal information, click 『Member Information Management』 on the Samjin Foods website to directly inspect/correct, or contact the Personal Information Manager by writing, phone, or email for immediate action.
If you request correction of errors, the personal information will not be used or provided until correction is completed. If incorrect personal information has already been provided to a third party, the result of correction will be notified to the third party without delay.
Article 6 (Withdrawal of Consent to Collection, Use, and Provision)
You may withdraw your consent to the collection, use, and provision of personal information granted during registration at any time. To withdraw consent, click 『Withdrawal of Consent (Membership Cancellation)』 on the main page or contact the Personal Information Manager by writing, phone, or email for immediate measures such as deletion. Upon taking measures like destroying information, facts will be notified without delay.
Samjin Foods will take necessary measures to make withdrawal of consent (cancellation) easier than the collection method.
Article 7 (Retention and Usage Period of Personal Information)
Your personal information will be destroyed once the purpose of collection or provision is achieved. However, if retention is necessary to verify transaction-related rights and obligations pursuant to provisions of relevant laws such as the Commercial Act, it will be retained for a certain period:
• Membership registration information: Retained for a predetermined period with prior notice and consent regarding retention purpose, period, and items upon cancellation or expulsion.
• Records on contracts or withdrawal of subscription, etc.: 5 years
• Records on payment and supply of goods, etc.: 5 years
• Records on consumer complaints or dispute settlement: 3 years
• Records on website visits: 3 months
If you request inspection of transaction information held with your consent, Samjin Foods will take measures to allow inspection without delay.
Article 8 (Destruction Procedures and Methods of Personal Information)
In principle, the Company destroys personal information without delay after the collection and usage purpose is achieved.
Destruction Procedure:
Information entered for registration is transferred to a separate DB (a separate filing cabinet for paper) after purpose achievement and stored for a certain period according to internal policies and information protection reasons under relevant laws before destruction. Information transferred to a separate DB will not be used for purposes other than retention unless required by law.
Destruction Method:
Personal information printed on paper is shredded or incinerated. Electronic file forms are deleted using technical methods that render records unrecoverable.
Article 9 (Technical and Administrative Measures for Personal Information Protection)
Technical Measures:
Samjin Foods devises technical measures to prevent loss, theft, leakage, alteration, or damage of personal information:
• Personal information is protected by passwords, and important data is protected through separate security functions such as encrypting files/transmission data or using file locking.
• Antivirus programs prevent damage from computer viruses. Programs are updated periodically, and newly emerged viruses are addressed immediately upon patch release.
• Security devices (SSL or SET) using encryption algorithms are adopted to safely transmit personal information over networks.
• Intrusion prevention and vulnerability analysis systems prepare against external intrusions such as hacking.
Administrative Measures:
Samjin Foods limits access authority to personal information to a minimum number of personnel:
• Personnel performing direct marketing tasks to users.
• Personnel performing personal information management tasks, including the Personal Information Manager.
• Personnel for whom handling personal information is inevitable for business.
Regular internal and external training on new security technologies and privacy obligations is conducted for employees handling personal information. Pledges of security upon joining prevent information leaks by humans, and internal audit procedures check compliance. Job handovers are conducted securely, and liabilities for privacy incidents post-employment are clarified. Personal information is stored separately from general data.
Samjin Foods is not responsible for incidents arising from user mistakes or basic internet risks. Users must manage IDs and passwords appropriately to protect their personal information. If loss, leak, alteration, or damage occurs due to internal manager mistakes or technical management accidents, Samjin Foods will notify you immediately and devise appropriate measures and compensation.
Article 10 (Link Sites)
Samjin Foods may provide links to other companies' websites or materials.
In this case, Samjin Foods has no control over external sites/materials and cannot guarantee or assume responsibility for the usefulness of services/materials provided. Clicking a link to another site page means the privacy policy of that site is independent of Samjin Foods; please review the policy of the newly visited site.
Article 11 (Posts)
Samjin Foods values your posts and protects them from alteration, damage, or deletion. However, exceptions apply:
• Spam posts (e.g., chain letters, advertisement emails, specific site ads).
• Posts defaming others by spreading false facts.
• Unauthorized disclosure of personal identities, posts infringing copyrights of Samjin Foods or third parties, or off-topic posts.
• To promote desirable board culture, specific parts of unauthorized identity disclosures may be deleted or modified with symbols.
• Posts movable to other boards display movement paths for clarity.
• Other cases may be deleted after explicit or individual warnings.
Fundamentally, rights and responsibilities related to posts rest with the author. Information voluntarily disclosed through posts is difficult to protect, so please consider carefully before disclosure.
Article 12 (Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing)
To provide smooth and reliable services, we entrust the processing of personal information to third-party service providers (entrustees) as follows. The transferred information is processed strictly within the scope necessary to fulfill the designated purpose and is retained until the expiration or termination of the service contract (or until the purpose of processing is achieved).

• Hana Bank: Bank transfer and virtual account services.

• Logistics & Courier Service Providers (CJ Logistics, Hanjin Transportation, Lotte Global Logistics, Korea Post): Delivery and logistics fulfillment services.
• Goodsflow Co., Ltd.: Logistics tracking and shipping data transmission services.
• Biztalk Corp.: Kakao Alimtalk (messaging) notification dispatch services.
• Korea Enterprise Security Co., Ltd. & Korea Information Certificate Authority Inc.: SSL security server certificate and authentication services.
• G2INET Co., Ltd.: Membership system management and hosting services.
• OKPOS Co., Ltd.: POS solutions, POS hardware maintenance, VAN services, membership management, and point/coupon management.
• Snap Company Co., Ltd. (Sub-entrustee for notifications: Lunasoft Co., Ltd. / Re-entrusted to Biztalk Corp.): Utilization of customer personal information (Name, User ID, Mobile Number, Gender, Age) for new service/product development, personalized service provision, marketing/promotional communications, and event participation management.
Article 13 (Rights and Obligations of Users)
Please enter current and accurate personal information to prevent accidents. Users are responsible for accidents caused by inaccurate information, and false information or identity theft may result in loss of membership eligibility.
You have the right to protection as well as the duty to protect yourself and not infringe upon others' information. Keep passwords secure and refrain from damaging others' personal information. Failure to fulfill duties and harming others' dignity may be punishable under relevant laws such as the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.

Samjin Foods strives to ensure safe service use. The Personal Information Manager assumes full responsibility for accidents violating notified protection matters. However, despite technical measures, the Company is not liable for unforeseen accidents caused by basic network risks like hacking, or disputes caused by user posts.

Article 16 (Protection of Children's Personal Information)
Samjin Foods considers protecting personal information of children under 14 online to be important. Samjin Foods does not permit children under 14 to register as members. Children under 14 cannot receive membership-based services at Samjin Foods.
Article 17 (Transmission of Commercial Advertising Information)
Samjin Foods does not send commercial advertising information for profit against your explicit refusal to receive.
When sending agreed electronic mail like newsletters, the subject and body display the following for easy recognition:
• Subject line: Main contents of the body are displayed (the word "(Ad)" may be omitted if agreed).
• Body text: Specifies sender name, email, phone number, address for opt-out; specifies easy opt-out methods in Korean and English; specifies consent date and content.
When sending commercial promotional emails for online marketing:
• Subject line: Displays "(Ad)" or "(Adult Ad)" in Korean at the beginning without spaces, followed by main body contents.
• Body text: Specifies sender details and easy opt-out methods in Korean and English.
Article 18 (Duty of Notification)
This Privacy Policy was originally established on January 1, 2013. If additions, deletions, or modifications occur due to changes in government policies or security technologies, notifications will be given via website announcements at least 7 days prior to revision.
